Alison Wachstein, Juror
Alison Wachstein is an honored photojournalist and lifestyle photographer well known for sensitive portrayals of her subjects and her ability to catch fleeting moments. Her work is part of the permanent collection of the International Center of Photography in New York City. She is author of Pregnant Moments, a book highly regarded in both the childbirth and photography communities. She has been the recipient of many state, regional and national awards, including the Kodak Gallery and EPCOT awards. She is a life member of both the PPA and Connecticut Professional Photographers Association and was Master Photographer of the Year for Connecticut PPA in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Alison is also a Certified Master Gardener and lives in Weston, CT.

The Film Series continues with a screening of the 1919 silent film
"Broken Blossoms"
in the Community Room of the Easton Public Library.

Broken Blossoms, is a 1919 American silent drama film directed by D. W. Griffith and premiered on May 13, 1919. It stars Lillian Gish, Richard Barthelmess, and Donald Crisp, and tells the story of young girl, Lucy Burrows, who is abused by her alcoholic prizefighting father, Battling Burrows, and meets Cheng Huan, a kind-hearted Chinese man who falls in love with her. It was the first film distributed by United Artists. It is based on Thomas Burke's short story "The Chink and the Child" from the 1916 collection Limehouse Nights. In 1996, Broken Blossoms was included in the annual selection of 25 motion pictures to be added to the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.
